GRASSMAYR Singing bowls

With thinner walls, singing bowls are the little sister of clock bells and cup bells for orchestras. Nevertheless, they resonate with far deeper partial tones than normal bells, despite their size.

They are characterized by particularly long enduring resonance. When manufactured by Grassmayr Bell Foundry, they are delivered acoustically tuned as organ cup bells for purposes of concerts and organs.

The history of bellmaking goes back more than 1000 years. Over the ages, a bronze alloy of copper and tin proved to be most successful for casting: its music is purest and the sounds created have shown themselves to be the most pleasant and most moving to the human ear. Although old documents exist which report about additives of gold, silver and even kernels of incense, for reasons of maintaining highest possible quality Grassmayer Bell Foundry uses for its singing bowls only pure bronze.
