High tech bell ringing management
Special bell computers called main clocks make possible maintenance-free ringing of bells throughout the entire church year. Desired, pre-determined ringing times, e.g. Friday at three o’clock in the afternoon or at moveable feasts such as Easter are easily pre-programmed.
Depending on regional bell culture, a variety of different and complex ringing orders and sequences can be programmed, even several years ahead of time.
In this way, the ringing of bells takes place just as programmed at the desirable times and on the chosen occasions, e.g. by manual push of a button on the computer (main clock) in the church vestry or by remote control from the cemetery.
